Terms and Conditions for internal users of downloaded CEH datasets

The downloaded dataset is for use only by those users with a CEH login.

CEH staff are reminded that there may be restrictions on use and/or dissemination of the downloaded dataset. That is, if being used as part of an externally funded project or where project results are to be made publicly available, any usage restrictions should be checked before using the data.

The data should be acknowledged in any project results or publication which involves its use.

Non-CEH staff (i.e. students) should be aware that there may be further restrictions on using this data.

The user is also reminded that there is there is the following additional data documentation relevant to the use and specification of the downloaded dataset:

• The Dataset supplied, a subset of the CEH and Freshwater Biological Association (FBA) data holdings, is a proprietary product of NERC and FBA and thus protected by Copyright law. NERC and the FBA reserve all rights of ownership and copyright in the Dataset.
• Users are required to offer CEH and FBA acknowledgement and/or co-authorship of any proposed publication arising from the use of the Dataset. CEH and FBA will have the right to accept this offer, allow the User to publish in his/her own right, or refuse permission to publish.
• Although these data are subject to quality control procedures, we are not able to warrant the accuracy of any digital data supplied to the user, and indeed have no responsibility for determining the fitness of the data for their intended use by the user. The provision of such data carries no liability for its accuracy or reliability and CEH and FBA cannot be held accountable for any loss, damage, injury or any other occurrence arising from the use of the data.
